NEW NEWS 3-8-12A challenge has been issued. After some delibeteration by the WT Committee, it has been decided that the challenge from Monkeys Uncle, a bar bretheren to our south, will be accepted. Therefore, next month on the back of the Big WT entry form you will see The Challenge. If an entrant from Monkeys Uncle wins The Big WT in April, then the May tourney will be hosted at their site. Same weigh-in schedule, same food, same format, just a different venue. There have been some RUMBLINGS.. But let those who rumble, loyal as you may be, not be shortsighted in our ultimate objective which is have 150 entrants at each tourney. 150 entrants will provide a minimum of a $1000 first prize, more money raised for the Wounded Warrior Project, and more of the things that go along with this simply, fun, enjoyable monthly get together. $750 was paid out to Wendal, Larry Finche's partner in slaughter. Wendal says he fished St. Augy beach nad caught his 28.3 ounce winner on a sand flea. There were 66 entrants in March, most of which participated in the Calcutta side bet. We Expect the April tourney to be one of our biggest to date. SO, tell yer friends if you have any, big money fer a little fish.
Holy Smokes!! The Big WT is heading into it's fourth or fifth year, I can't remember and I deleted all the old news. Oh well. 2012 needs to be the year the Big WT takes itself to new heights. I, your humble Administrator, have a goal of raising one-thousand greenbacks for the Wounded Warrior Project this year via this tourney. I also plan on winning at least two monthly tourneys. I also plan on adding to my female team. Plus I am gonna get in really good shape this year and quit drinkin'. Which reminds me, we will be crowning Miss Whiting at one of the summer tourneys. Miss Whiting will be a yong woman, probably in her early twenties, that has all the qualities that whiting fisherman look for in a woman. One that can catch sand fleas, bait a hook, throw a cast net, filet a fish and fry it up, and present open Bush Lights at all the perfect moments. AH! What a lovely gem of a woman!! Anyway, Miss Whiting will be crowned and probably go on to be Miss America. More on that later. This tourney is unique because of our participants. YOU. We need all of you to promote the tourney to your fishing friends. Send the website to them on email. Forward Facebook links and such. The more participants we have, the bigger the prizes and the more we can give to The Wounded Warrior Project. Sharpen Yer Hooks!! March 6th.
